Louie Gonzalez has been a member of the California Olive Oil Council (COOC) and a Taste Panel member for nearly six years.  In 2005, he was selected by the COOC as one of six members to attend a five-day seminar at the University of Imperia, Italy.  The seminar focused on building the skills essential in running an effective taste panel including in-depth organoleptic evaluation of olive oil and statistical analysis of the data collected by a taste panel.  He is certified as an International Olive Council (IOC) taste panel leader after completing the advanced course.  He is also founder of Rancho El Molino Olive Oil and Gourmet Foods based in Oakland, CA.
