Take a step back in time to learn about this ancient rice wine, believed to have first been produced in the 3rd century! In this class you will taste through and learn about the many different varieties of sake, get a quick history lesson about sake production and modern brewing techniques. Paul Tanguay has pursued extensive study and training in the subtle nuances, processes and traditions of Japan’s national beverage and has traveled widely in Japan, visiting breweries and tasting his way around the country. In addition to the tasting, you will also learn what foods pair well with Sake from traditional Asian dishes such as tempura and sushi as well as many Western dishes traditionally paired with white wines.
